Tonights progress

Tonight progress was me just tweaking the face some to give it more character. ( I think there needs to be much more). I worked on the helm some and refined it so Onslow does not look so much like Dirk the Daring. The big addition was the eyes. I now have full control of the irises opening and closing.

Over all I think he is starting to come along.

Again any feedback, comments, and critiques welcomed.

Old Onslow

*EDIT! Here is a render with his eyes in place from the last post. :D

It seems the modeling of the New/Old Onslow is coming along. I was able to rough him out tonight.

I know right now he looks like a very old Dirk from Dragons Lair. That was completely unintentional and will "Hopefully" be fixed down the road. I would love to hear feedback as I move along, getting ideas on how to improve the short from the previous incarnation.

The next few steps will be to refine Onslow’s face, and start working on a range of expressions for him. I will be trying a new trick where I make a Ref of this head and from it make the different blend shapes or Morph targets. In theory I should be able to go back to the main head and make any modeling tweaks along the way without having to completely remodel the Morphs.

I will post more as I finish.

Tip Toe Re-Newed.

They say the eyes are the window into the soul. I hope this is true as I have found a rekindled energy for re-doing an old and lost short I did years ago.

I want to use it to apply all of the things I have learned since then and see if I can finish it.

I start this process with rebuilding the eyes and I hope soon to have a head here to join them.

As I finish bits and peices; I will start posting here my progress from time to time as I get things done. I plan on revisiting the old story boards and tighten up the animation. Here’s to hoping for success.

I just finised DN07. coloring the black and white to color.

I cleaned up the layout a bit, and removed Sherman the dwarf.

I would love to hear from those who read this what you think. I am also going to stop my Ted Turner like tendencies and focus on new content.

Does anyone read these things??

I have had my notes going for several years, and I have tried to keep them coming on a regular basis. but the truth of the matter is, along with this blog and my forum,  I am not even sure anyone even reads these things apart from a friend or two.

What I would like is to have my readers(?) sound off hear and tell me what you like and don't like. I created this blog so that I can be reached by fans and allow me an oppertunity to interact with them.

So......IS ANYONE OUT THERE!!!!!???????

Back to work.

I have had several requests that I start posting new Dungeon Notes. I now have a bit of time between projects and can once again start.

I am picking up again with the recoloring of Note 07. I stalled out on it as, one, I was not getting any feedback from my peers, and two I think I put in to much as I redraw them. Here is an example:

This is a shot of the work in progress as it sits in Flash. As you can see from the wiz, his face is made up of several layers. This gives me a great deal of control over the final look, but is very time consuming to do. I am not sure if this level of detail is worth it.

Also, I am struggling with the composition. You can see i have not blocked out Sherman, the dwarf, and I am not sure if he is needed. But I feel the piece is off balanced without him. as seen in the black and white.

What do you, my followers think?

Things are a bit slow...

As the topic states, things have been a bit slow here. I have not posted any progress for w few weeks. That is because I have been burning the midnight oil to complete my latest game project. It is a game called "Flip Ship" that will hopefully become available around Labor day.
It has taken all of my energies to date; but rest asured that I will posting new notes and updates again real soon.
